KFC Berths in Ibadan


Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) a world renowned restaurant brand added a new outlet in Ibadan recently to its already existing outlets in City Mall, The Palms, Allen Avenue, Ligali Ayorinde, Yaba, Apapa, Adeola Odeku, Surulere and Issac John.

KFC’s Head of Marketing, Vikram Varma, while speaking during the launch said “with the launch of this new outlet in Ibadan, KFC moves to double digit figures within a span of two years and we will continue to consistently deliver the same cuisine enjoyed internationally with the secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices and fresh ingredients of only the finest quality.”

He went further to thank Her Excellency and other dignitaries present for coming to be part of the landmark event and assured Ibadan residents of the same international standard that KFC is known for world over.

Her Excellency, wife of the executive governor of Oyo State, Mrs Florence Ajimobi and other business leaders in Oyo state gathered to celebrate the opening of KFC’s first store in Ibadan and tenth outlet in Nigeria.

She commended KFC for choosing Ibadan as the next port of call for investment.  She went on to laud this action, stating that it means Oyo state is increasing in relevance and the efforts of the present administration towards creating conducive economic atmosphere for investment and provision of employment opportunities. She also assured KFC of the state’s support for her business activities.

Mr. Vishal Kapur, Chief Executive Officer of Devyani International Nigeria Limited, the KFC franchisee in Nigeria, expressed confidence that in due course KFC will spread to other parts of the city.

KFC started operations in Nigeria on Monday, 14th December 2009 through a franchise arrangement between RJ Corp of India and Chellarams Plc which gave birth to Devyani International Nigeria limited. Their first outlet was in City Mall (Onikan)
